Injured fast bowler Shamar Joseph had helped his team reach the Test with great difficulty by defeating Australia by eight runs in Brisbane on 28 January.

  The West Indies, who brought the weakest squad for the Test series, gave debuts to four players, including Joseph, in the two Tests.

  They were beaten inside three days in Adelaide last week and looked likely to face a similar situation in the day-night Test in Brisbane.

  But Australia were bowled out for 207 in the second session on Sunday, giving West Indies their first win in Australia since last winning in Perth in 1997.

  Joseph finished with figures of 7-68 in just his second Test on Sunday, bowling at an unfavorable pace of 11.5 overs.

 

  Australia started the day at 60-2 with Steve Smith playing a brilliant inning of 91 and Cameron Green looking the part against Kemar Roach and Alzarri Joseph.

  Shamar Joseph, who had to retire hurt after suffering a toe injury in the second inning on Saturday night, came into the attack just 45 minutes into the first session.

  He dismissed Green when the Australian No. 4 hit a four, which was Head's second first-ball duck of the match.

 

  Australia, who were leading at 113-2, suddenly became 113-4, not looking troubled even after reaching their half-century.

 Joseph, struck again when Mitchell Marsh edged out Alec Athanaz at third slip and the ball slipped out of Athanaz's hands, but it went straight to Justin Greaves, leaving Australia 132–5, 84 runs away from victory.  left

    Aye was clean bowled by Vajra, which hit the off stump, with Australia 136–6.

  Mitchell Starc decided that was the best route to victory and he scored 21 runs from just 14 balls, before he tried a big hit and edged out Kevin Sinclair at cover.

 

  After the break, Alzarri Joseph beat Hazlewood for pace and bowled him through the gate, before Shamar Joseph ended the innings.
